The project involves the construction of a new 12-seat District Courtroom and expansion of the existing District Attorney office on the 2nd floor of the existing Mesa County Justice Center. The 2nd floor of the Mesa County Justice Center is approximately 24,700 SF and was previously office space only with no courtrooms. A portion of the existing office space has been vacated and this allowed for the construction of the new courtroom and expansion of the Mesa County District Attorney’s office space.  The new 2000 SF courtroom will be located on the 2nd floor and is intended to be laid out similarly to the larger courtrooms already existing in the Justice Center.  The expansion of the District Attorney office includes new victim witness and investigations office areas, as well as a large meeting room. A new public corridor, inmate transfer area, secure corridor, office support spaces, and jury meeting room will also be added as part of the project to serve the new courtroom.
